Turning this on lets your building administration display custom messages on this InfoBoard at any time - for example during an evacuation or facility notice - which will replace everything else the board normally cycles through until they're cleared. MWorks does not write, review, or take responsibility for the content of any message sent using the Emergency Broadcasts function; that's between you and your building administration.
